“My experience of Wellbeing Coaching with Katie has been very positive. From the start Katie was very easy to speak to, and she made it easy for me to be honest with her and with myself. The first session was interesting because I came away from that with a plan, which I hadn’t expected. After that, the beginning of each session was a reflection on how things had been since the last session. This was a nice way to start because Katie would point out things that were positive, no matter how insignificant they seemed to me at first. I found this helped to boost my motivation and put me in a good frame of mind for the rest of the session.
After each session, Katie gave me ‘homework’, like a questionnaire or something similar. They were good because they really got me thinking. I would read them, start filling them in, mull them over for a few days and then go back and write more or change something. Then you discuss them in the next session and I found this beneficial for 2 reasons. One, it helps you set goals and two, it brings you to realise that some things are better than you thought and so your goals are more achievable than you thought.
For me, the biggest things I have gotten out of the coaching so far, is a clear exercise schedule and plan, which I have been sticking to for weeks now, and the realisation that I can achieve whatever I want to achieve. I used to always find things in the way of taking time for myself to exercise, now I don’t think that way at all. I just do it. I love it and I wouldn’t have gotten there without Katie’s support.
Katie doesn’t only focus on exercise, this was a goal for me so we did put a lot of focus on that. However, she also helped me to prioritise in other areas of my life too. I never felt like anything I said was silly or couldn’t be discussed.
